Deccan Odyssey 2015 Kicks Off From Panaji

As the monsoon season kicks off, so does the Rickshaw Challenge Deccan Run 2015. Our five brave, or crazy – depending on your perspective – teams take on the challenge of riding their trusty three-wheeled steeds up from Panaji in Goa to Mumbai.

Things started off smoothly, it seems. Our teams were introduced to their mobile motoring homes for the next coming week and got a chance to try out their skills as a rickshaw driver before embarking on the challenging route across south-west India and the Deccan Plain.

Before heading off, our teams had a couple of preliminary challenges to warm them up, taking them to the historic churches of Old Goa for a photo opp.

Now that the engines have been revved, it’s now time for the real thing to start and our teams are on their way to the city of Belgaum in Karnataka. From here, they will slowly make their way to Mumbai, with some historic and interesting cities on the way, like Kolhapur, Pune, Aurangabad, the fantastic caves of Ajanta and Ellora, Nashik and Mumbai!
