In the latest ‘Open Happiness’ installation, Coca-Cola is set out to break down barriers and create a simple moment of connection between two nations, India and Pakistan. The initiative “Small World Machines” provided a live communications portal between people in India and Pakistan and showed that what unites us is stronger than what sets us apart. The key to engaging with each other through the machines was simple: people in India and Pakistan could complete a task, like touching hands, drawing peace, love, and happiness symbols – together.

Elio Motors Three Wheeler

Elio Motors unveiled a prototype of its two-passenger, three-wheeled vehicle. The Elio gets 84 miles to the gallon on the highway and 49 MPG in the city and can go 672 miles on its 8 gallon tank. It will cost $6,800 and is slated to begin production in the spring of 2014 at Elio Motor’s Shreveport, Louisiana plant.

Top speed is in excess of 100 MPH, and the 0-60 speed is under 9.6 seconds. It has 3-wheel disc brakes with Anti-Lock Braking System on 15″ wheels.

The engine is in the front and it is a front-wheel-drive vehicle. So, with a low center of gravity and weight towards the front, you’ll get great traction action – even in the snow.

Terra Motors’ Electric Tuk-Tuk

Japanese start-up company Terra Motors has put together what it calls the electric tuk-tuk, which is an all-electric three-wheeled vehicle, which will be primarily used as a taxi.

First offered in the Philippines, the all-electric tuk tuk will cost around $6,300, which is far more than the $1,500 gasoline versions currently on the market.

Capable of a 31-mile range on a two-hour charge, according to a TechCrunch report, the electric tuk-tuk is estimated to save owners $5 in gas per day, which might just make up for its recharge time inconvenience.

The EV trike looks much more futuristic than its gasoline competitors but is just as versatile. At three meters long, the electric tuk-tuk can seat up to six passengers.
